Book four in the Family Fortune Mystery series. As an addition to the traditional Founders Day celebrations the residents of Crystal Haven have added a Zombie Fun Run to the Friday night lineup as a fundraiser for charity. While gearing up for it Clyde founds out that her sister and her husband are coming for a visit which raises some huge red flags because she has not been back since she left. One of the zombies is found dead during the run and he is dressed quite a bit like the sisters husband which leads her to admit that they are in really big trouble with bad guys coming after them. During her stay she pushes Clyde and Mac to sign emergency guardianship papers for their two kids Seth and Sophie in case anything happens to them. On top of all of that they become the prime suspects when it comes to the murdered man because he is the sisters ex-boyfriend and they all had words. As the stress is building the two of them disappear and their vehicle is found with the alarm going while a nearby boat goes up in flames. The really story comes from little Miss Sophie and it is a real doozy. Clyde is in for a whole new life now but thankfully Mac is more than willing to join her on the ride. This is great blend of whimsy (the dogs are hilarious), mystery, and supense making it a must read for cozy mystery fans. I give it 4/5 stars.
