Book two in the Lady Francis Ffolkes mystery series. The author has done it again. The perfect blend of historical details, girl power, and a mystery to be solved. The interplay between Frannie and her maid just cracks me up. Only two people who truly know one another can talk like that and Mallow's loyalty is just a treat. One would think country house party would be fairly bland but never when Frannie is there. Of course her and the maid get to find another dead body which the police cannot seem to investigate right. This makes Frannie starts asking her own questions until she finds herself in harms way. The dialogue in these books is just incredible. It really hooks the reader giving them a very clear outline of the personalities being portrayed. All the details just seem to work so well together that we end up with a remarkably good historical fiction mystery novel that I really enjoyed so it gets 4/5 stars.
