The book starts with the focus on Avery and how she gets the motivation to start the Academy of Lost Souls. Then we meet Zarya a half witch half ghost hunter which makes her a huge outcast. I must say she has some power in her own right making her an intriguing character to say the least. Add in some other students and things get interesting as she gets invited to attend. Leads to an interesting ending that leaves you with unanswered questions wishing the next book was out. Great world building filled with interesting paranormal characters. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
