A fantastic historical romance by one of my go to authors! Gwyn is spent quite a bit of time hiding a past affair from her family since it would ruin their reputation. This just gets worse when the man in question shows up trying to blackmail her to keep him quite. Worried for her safety after witnessing an encounter (though he has no clue what it was really about) her brother hires the gamekeeper to act as her bodyguard during her debut. This makes things hard for her to meet in secret with her past lover since he is always there. Thrown in close proximity to one another they slowly develop feelings for each other though both try to deny it. This makes for quite a few tension filled moments as well as some other things. Overall a great historical romance that makes you feel like you are living during that time while following two characters you really get attached to. A must read for fans of the genre. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
