Character Interview
1) Tell us a little bit about yourself--both something we learn from [the story] and something that readers might not guess? My love of ice cream and family came from my grandmother. She’s no longer with us, but I feel her presence all the time, especially when I’m in the ice cream shop. And something a reader wouldn’t know about me, I didn’t go into the medical field like my brothers because I wanted to stand out. I wanted to have my father take notice. I’m his little girl, and I never doubted his love for me, but I just had the need to be different.
2) How did you first meet your writer? We met in South Euclid at the library. My author frequents there and I just happened to be wandering by. I told her about my ice cream shop and she insisted on finding out more about it. And eating it! She even brought her grandkids. And once she tasted my ice cream and saw what a cool, quaint little village Chagrin Fall is, she was hooked.
3) Want to dish about him/her? Abby is great. She lets her character write their own story. For instance, I wasn’t really concerned about having a relationship, I had an ice cream shop to get opened and running, and she didn’t push me! Even with my friends and mother trying to make me date. A great person. A great writer, I feel really connected to my author, Abby Collette.
4) Why do you think that your life has ended up being in a book? I think it’s great! I worked in an ad agency for a few years after getting my MBA and I understand about “hooking” your audience and getting them interested in your product. It’s great advertising for me and my family’s ice cream shop!
5) Who's your favorite character? Why? Ah, don’t tell my mother, but it’s PopPop, my grandfather. He is so grumpy, but I know how to make him smile.
6) Who's your least favorite character? Why? I don’t have a least favorite one, unless you count all the murderers lurking around our little village.
7) What's next for you? Hopefully more time in the ice cream shop, and no more murders!

Ice cream shop owner Bronwyn Crewse is in for two scoops of murder in this charming mystery from Abby Collette.

To clear her name before the chill of winter sets in, Win will have to investigate and hope that her detective skills won’t “dessert” her.
