Character Name: Bronwyn Crewse
Tell us a little
bit about yourself--both something we learn from [the story] and something that
readers might not guess?
My name is Bronwyn Crewse, but
family and friends call me Win. Hope you will, too. I’m the youngest child of
four and the only girl. And the only child of my parents who didn’t go into the
medical field. I have an MBA and worked at an ad agency before coming back home
to help with our family business. Something not guessed, is that I work hard
because inside, I feel like I have to prove myself so I became an
over-achiever. I don’t lace self-confidence, but I feel obligated to do more.
How did you
first meet your writer?
My writer took a
long time to come around to me. My story was suggested to her, but she couldn’t
wrap her head around who I’d be. She’d never written a story about a shop owner
before and didn’t think she could. But I helped her see that my story was one
that readers would enjoy.
Want to dish
about him/her?
My writer is awesome,
sometimes she lets me take over my story and tell it even though it wasn’t what
she planned to write! And she’s funny and is writes the clues to help up solve
the murder so well that we aren’t ever able to guess whodunit until the end
(well Maisie, my best friend, likes to jump to conclusions about who it is way
before we have enough info to go one). My writer is a Wall Street Journal, USA
Today and Amazon international best selling author and I’m so hope she chose to
write about me!
Why do you think
that your life has ended up being in a book?
I think my story
is one to tell. It is about family and friends and the joy of coming together
for a common purpose. My family has gone through a lot, but we’re here to show
everyone that you can make it through, even when faced with murder!
Who's your favorite character?
Why?
My favorite character is the
writer of this book. Her life reads just like a book! But if you mean in my
world, I don’t think I could decide. Plus, I wouldn’t want anyone to say that I
picked one of them over the other.
Who's your least favorite character?
Why?
That would be probably be the
victim. Oh! Is that terrible to say?? Well you just wait until you meet him . .
.
What's next for you?
I have so many stories to tell and
so many murders to solve, so what I hope is that I will be able to share all my
adventures with you for a long time to come.

This book kicks off a charming cozy mystery series set in an ice cream shop—with a fabulous cast of quirky characters.
Recent MBA grad Bronwyn Crewse has just taken over her family's ice cream shop in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and she's going back to basics. Win is renovating Crewse Creamery to restore its former glory, and filling the menu with delicious, homemade ice cream flavors—many from her grandmother’s original recipes. But unexpected construction delays mean she misses the summer season, and the shop has a literal cold opening: the day she opens her doors an early first snow descends on the village and keeps the customers away.
To make matters worse, that evening, Win finds a body in the snow, and it turns out the dead man was a grifter with an old feud with the Crewse family. Soon, Win’s father is implicated in his death. It's not easy to juggle a new-to-her business while solving a crime, but Win is determined to do it. With the help of her quirky best friends and her tight-knit family, she'll catch the ice cold killer before she has a meltdown...
REVIEW
*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.
A fantastic start to what is going to be a wonderful culinary cozy. I am lactose intolerant to ice cream is not my usual go to snack but by the end of this book I was craving some so badly. We get to meet Bronwyn just as she is about to re-open the family ice cream shop after a huge remodel she did once she got to take over. This is a nerve wracking endeavor which is just made worse when a snow storm ruins opening day. To make herself fell better Win decides to collect fresh snow from by the falls to make ice cream with. Her plan is derailed when she finds a dead body instead. When her dad becomes a main suspect she finds herself asking lots of questions and getting into to trouble with the help of some friends. Smooth writing that really brings the story to life while taking the reader along for the ride. Made for a great mystery. I look forward to book two. I totally loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.
