*I received a free copy of this book from Netgalley which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for. Fairly solid start to a new cozy mystery series. Meet Emily who runs a donut shop with with her father-in-law. As a widow she is still trying to figure parts of her life out so it comes as no surprise that she would find herself wrapped up in a murder investigation it is a cozy after all. I like the mix of mystery and donuts as the two seem to blend nicely in this story. I enjoyed the characters as each one was introduced and feel that this is a solid foundation for more books to come which I am interested in I must say. I enjoyed how the author kept just enough twists in the story so the reader could not figure it all out too early. Parts were a little slow but I imagine it will pick up in future installments. I really enjoyed reading it so I give it 4/5 stars.
