Book three in the Amos Decker series. Decker has started to establish himself at the FBI by this point making it obvious he can solve the cases he works on. On his way to work one morning he witnesses a man shoot a woman in the head then shoot himself. The people in charge had just decided that his group was going to moved to current cases instead of only working on cold cases so what better one to make that transition on than one Amos himself witnessed. The investigation is a long complicated process that seems drawn out for parts of the book but then things start to pick up real quick. Amos has a distinct way of thinking about things that makes these books a little different from other mystery novels though still fascinating. This is a good blend of mystery and suspense though I would not consider it to be much of a thriller novel. I give it 4/5 stars.
