Book one in the Secret Rescuers series. This is a series that is made for kids in grades 2-3 but that does not make it any less cute. This is a world with magical creatures that the King just loved but when he passes away his Queen has her evil knight try to hunt them down to cage them or get ride of them altogether. Sophy a servant at the castle finds a bag of plain looking grey stones where one starts to glow after a baby dragon crashes near here in the apple orchard. The stone lets her them understand one another and Sophy hinds the dragon to keep him safe until she can help him get away. This is a cute little story with a simple vocabulary that is perfect for kids starting on chapters that just happen to love magic and/or animals. I give it 4/5 stars.
