Book four in the Beanie & Cruiser Mystery series. Things are getting a bit nuts for Beanie by this point. She has joined the ranks of a hound rescue group and has started fostering abandoned ones until they can find a home. She has no charges when the book begins but quickly gets a call about a female that needs picked up from the local shelter. She arrives in the middle of a controversy as picketers are lined up outside. Things go from bad to worse when the manager of the shelter is found dead. I have to say there is a whole lot going on in this book. The murder alone keeps Beanie hopping from one clue to the next but the addition of the crazy dog really tops the cake. The two parts of the story combine into a fast paced mystery that really keeps the reader guessing until the finale. This is a good choice for fans of cozy mysteries that have a strong reliance on the animal sidekick. I really enjoyed so I give it 4/5 stars.
