Book one in the
Downward Dog Mystery series. What a great start to a new series. Meet Kate who runs a yoga studio and i have to admit she sound like she really knows what she is doing. The details are just amazing to the point that now I really want to try yoga whereas before I was just curious. Kate is trying to get her business up and running with a profit which is at risk when a homeless man sets up shop outside her door to sell newspapers which would not be so bad if he did not have a very untrained German Shepard (Bella) with him. Kate works with him and things are going great until she finds his dead body outside and Bella in her kennel. As worry for the dog takes over she finds herself investigating because she wants to know what happened plus the cops think it was a drunken brawl with no real suspects. Before too long Kate finds herself in trouble with only Bella able to save the day. This is a very well written cozy mystery that gives us some great characters for us to love as well as the sweetest dog. I enjoy how the dog has medical issues that are dealt with instead of ignored. This highlights how not all dogs are born perfect and instead they need some extra love and attention. The yoga details provide a very nice balance to the story that I highly enjoyed so this book gets 4/5 stars.
