Book three in the Spice Shop Mystery series. Things are really heating up for Piper in this book. Her ex mother-in-law finds a dead body at the base of basement stair which makes her the prime suspect in his murder. The case is strengthened when it is discovered that she argued with him as well. Piper wants to stay out of it but her daughter as well as her ex beg her to get involved. Since she has become fond of Melly she gets involved despite the danger managing to find the truth before they are both taken out by the killer. This is well written cozy mystery novel that has lots of tidbits about the proper use of spices mixed into the story right beside the clues to the mystery. The eclectic mix of characters are a hoot that really anchor the arcing story line giving the story a life if its own. I highly recommend this book/series to fans of cozy mysteries. I really enjoyed it so I give it 4/5 stars.
