Book one in the Liv & Di in Dixie Mystery series. This is the cutest little Southern culture book. We get to meet Liv who is married and owns her own party planning business which she is really good at. She was hired to plan a fortieth wedding anniversary party, bu when she goes to check if the freezers are big enough for the ice sculptures she finds two dead bodies instead. The two dead brothers worked for her husbands family's trucking company and were involved in some shady dealing that they were unaware of. Her father-in-law has a heart attack thanks to the pressure of the investigation. This causes Liv to investigate the murders along with her best friend Di in an effort to makes things easier for her in-laws. Of course she fumbles a few things along the way which is where the Southern charm and social traditions come into play. The combination makes for a really cute story that I really enjoyed until the very last page. I give it 4/5 stars.
