Book two in the Barkery & Biscuits Mystery series which makes me officially caught up since I accidentally read book three first. Carrie has officially gotten both of her bakeries established by this book and things are going so well she has even hired more help. She is still dating Reed and hoping things will progress there at some point. She decides to join one of her bothers hikes where she gets to meet the new woman he is interested in and gets to hear the story of how her dog was stolen. The story breaks Carrie's heart and when she starts looking for a new dog for her she finds the stolen dog instead. Of course this raises questions of how the dog got there since it was stolen from far away but when other missing dogs how up as well things really heat up. While trying to figure out what is going on Carrie finds herself in more danger than she could have prepared for though she is able to figure it all out in the end. The characters are really well-developed and I just love the animals all throughout the book blended in so nicely. The doggy bakery would be my favorite place to go if it existed. This book is perfect for animal lovers and cozy mystery fans. I give it 4/5 stars.
