Book two in the Ravenspire series. Inspired by the tale of Rumpelstiltskin this is the story of a set of twins that become entangled with a Wish Granter. First the older brother in the set wishes for his sisters safety while they are fleeing for their lives as the exiled bastard children of the King. The Wish granter refuses this wish though instead making him wish to be King because he wants to have a king in his pocket so he can do what he wants. The sister finds out about this arrangement after awhile and begins doing everything she can to break the deal without anyone getting killed and before the Wish Granter takes over the world. The beginning of the story feels drawn out and is slow to build but once it does the momentum moves fast which kept me hooked until the last page. The sister has a strong personality and very intelligent. She screams girl power and is the mastermind behind saving the day in the end though she did have a little help from her fiends. The brother seems more of puppet and comes of rather weak in the long run. The blend of magic, fantasy, and ingenuity makes for quite a fascinating story that I really enjoyed. Great for fans of the YA fantasy genre. I give it 4/5 stars.
