As the firstborn King, I should be the heir to the Irish Syndicate.

Instead, my father wants to marry me off to the highest bidder to fund a war I don’t believe in.

My carefully controlled life starts to unravel, spiraling out of control faster than I can stop it.

And then I meet them, and I can breathe again.

Tall with perpetual smirks and covered in tattoos, they remind me what it feels like to live.

Remind me that I don’t need someone to save me.

I’m a King. I can save myself.

*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.
OMG I was hooked from page one!! We meet Mauve the oldest child of the powerful King family. While this should give her security instead it makes her a pawn since as a female she is unable to take over in their sexist world. So instead her and her sisters have become extremely skilled assassin's. This becomes important when her father essentially sells her to the highest bidder regardless of what she wants. This sets things up for one fantastic story as it all starts to play out leading to one doozy of an ending that will have you wanting book two right now. A must read. I totally loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.
