Blog Tour, Character Interview, & Review for Moving is Murder by Nellie H. Steele

Character Interview

Character Name: Ellie Byrne

1)     Tell us a little bit about yourself--both something we learn from [the story] and something that readers might not guess?
My name is Ellie Byrne.  I’m recently divorced and I just moved from Winwick to Salem Falls when my aunt passed away.  Something readers may not guess about me even after reading my story is that I love Scotland.  I’ve always wanted to travel there (and I just might now that I’m not broke), but for now, I enjoy looking at pictures of the country on my Facebook feed.

2)     How did you first meet your writer?
Nellie approached me at a really low point in my life and asked if I wanted to go on a wild adventure.  What did I have to lose?  My husband ran off with another woman, I was eyebrows-deep in debt, my life was basically in ruins.  So, I said sure.  I didn’t realize she would put me in the middle of a murder investigation AND THEN drop the talking pet bombshell, but all in all, I’ve had fun, so I guess it was worth it.

3)     Want to dish about him/her?
Nellie’s pretty quiet, so there’s not much to dish about.  She’s got tons of pets.  Every time we talk, there’s barking and meowing.  It’s like living a in zoo.  Hmm…I wonder if her pets talk to her, too?

4)     Why do you think that your life has ended up being in a book?
Misery loves company, right?  Come on, my life was in shambles and then suddenly, my aunt is murdered.  Pretty intriguing story, right?

5)     Who's your favorite character? Why?
I can’t pick…Lola and Cleo are both great.  Lola is just sweet and lovable.  She tries so hard to protect me and Cleo.  She’s not the brightest bulb, but you gotta love her spirit.

And Cleo? Well, even though she’s got a smart mouth, I love that furball to pieces.  She cares deeper than she’s willing to admit.  That cat’s got a lot of heart.

6)     Who's your least favorite character? Why?
I really don’t like Andy from the grocery story.  I know he didn’t kill Aunt Susie but still… that guy’s got a real attitude that needs adjusted.

7)     What's next for you?
I’m not sure I want to know.  I agreed with Nellie taking the reins and I ended up in a murder investigation with talking pets.  What’s next?  A dragon?  Who knows…but for now I’m going to try to reopen the old B&B and see how far I get before Nellie dumps another crime on me.

REVIEW
*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.

Welcome to the start of a brand new cozy series. We meet Ellie Byrne Larson, who is down on her luck after her ex took everything they had and left. To make it better she gets fired as well even though the pay was never enough. Out of options things are looking dire until she finds out she has inherited a house in Salem Falls after the death of her aunt. As if starting over is not enough it is revealed that her aunt was poisoned and everyone is a suspect. She cannot help but to start looking into things introducing us to all sorts of quirky characters. Add in some new pet, small town flair, and some surprise twists to get a story you will not want to put down making for quite the fun read. Sure to delight fans of the genre. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.

About Nellie H. Steele

Award-winning author Nellie H. Steele writes in as many genres as she reads. Addicted to books since she could read, Nellie escaped to fictional worlds like the ones created by Carolyn Keene or Victoria Holt long before she decided to put pen to paper and create her own realities. When she’s not spinning a cozy mystery tale, building a new realm in a contemporary fantasy, or writing another action-adventure car chase, you can find her shuffling through her Noah’s Ark of rescue animals or enjoying a hot cuppa (that’s tea for most Americans.)
