Breena MacRae, a healer from Skye with a touch of witchery in her blood, embarks on a dangerous search for her missing father. She arrives on the Isle of Coll, seat of the vile Campbells. There, she encounters the debonair future chief to the Dunbar Clan, Egan, who rescues her from a Campbell sentry.

Egan Dunbar is on Coll to keep the peace between the feuding Campbells and Dunbars. But when he catches Breena in a lie, he agrees to help her find her father to pay back an old debt and get to the bottom of the secrets she's hiding.

As their attraction for each ignites like a firestorm, Breena and Egan realize a future together could trigger deadly consequences—a clan war between the Campbells and the Dunbars. Is Egan willing to betray his clan for love, even though he knows Breena is keeping secrets from him? Can Breena trust him with her family secret and put those she loves at risk?

 REVIEW
*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.

I have been reading a lot of current time romances lately but I was looking for a good historical read to enjoy. This one hit the spot quite nicely. I enjoy a good Scottish romance. We get a dashing Highlander looking to somewhat keep a feud erupting whose path makes him stumble across Breena who is secretly looking for her father that may be held captive. The two were surprised by the force of their attraction but neither is willing to give up on their quest. Little did they know that this could also put them in danger making for quite the fun read as it all plays out. The touch of magic just makes it that much better. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.

Blog Tour & Giveaway for Lachlann's Legacy by Ashley York

Lachlann's Legacy
The Order of the Scottish Thistle Book 1
by Ashley York
Genre: Historical Romance
Hidden secrets could tear them apart as fast as their passion drove them together

On the Moray coast in Scotland…

Ethne’s genuine and caring nature makes her invaluable to her brother as his son’s caretaker, but he and his wife treat her as little more than their servant. When she learns their tribal leader would use her chaste status for his own purposes, Ethne plans to escape and reluctantly accepts the help of Lachlann—a handsome pilgrim she only just met at the local faire.

Despite her independent spirit, Ethne feels drawn to Lachlann. Her instincts say his intentions are honorable, but can she trust him with her heart?

Raised by his godfather with few clues to his family’s past, Lachlann values his freedom and the brotherhood of his highlander kin. Disguised as a pilgrim on a mission for the priory, he encounters Ethne, a warm, intelligent maiden whose courage in the face of a loveless marriage awakens an intense need to protect her.

Unfortunately, Ethne is one of the very people he must deceive to explore the cave system containing clues to the lost treasure he seeks. But he cannot abandon her to an uncertain fate—or deny the simmering tension between them.

With religious prejudice running high and both of them facing tests of loyalty, Lachlann and Ethne may realize the only way to fight for their futures is to surrender... to each other.

Award-winning author Ashley York writes historical romance full of passion and intrigue set in 11th and 12th century Ireland, Scotland, and England where life was wild and survival was never guaranteed.
Whether it's in the mysterious ring forts of Ireland, the romantic Scottish Highlands, or the battle fields of Hastings, her characters fight hard and play hard. Good or evil, primary or secondary, they'll yank at your emotions and make it hard to put her books down.
Passionate about history and research, York may tweak some historical facts (like the location of the Baron's Rebellion) but the flavor of the time is undeniable. With heroes and heroines you'll want to read about again and again, her stories are fresh and unpredictable but still finish with a satisfying HEA.

Highland Promise by Alyson McLayne

Highland Promise (The Sons of Gregor MacLeod #1)Book one in the new Sons of Gregor MacLead series. I was in the mood for a good highlander romance novel and this one did not disappoint. it starts with huge feud between some clans that ends with each having to give up one son to be raised by MacLead hence the name of the series. Of course this causes a strong bond between the lads when they get grown essentially united their clans. Darach MacKenzie was told by the King to stop his feud with the Fosters and things are fine until he finds a young woman being treated harshly in their care. He helps rescue her and vows to keep her safe which reignites the feud. before he discovers the secret of who she is they essentially fall in love (which is great by the way) though neither will admit it. Of course things all work out in the end as this is a romance novel after all. I highly recommend this book to fans of highland historical romance novels. I really enjoyed it so I give it 4/5 stars and I will be keeping my eyes out for the next installment in this series.
