Death by Chocolate Lab by Bethany Blake

Book one in a new series called Lucky Paws Pet Sitting Mystery by, from what I can tell, a new author. I got my hands on an ARC copy to try it out (it comes out February 28, 2017). Pet sitter Daphne Templeton lives with her sister, and she finds her sister's ex-boyfriend murdered on their property. Daphne finds herself wrapped up in the murder case after her sister becomes a suspect, and her efforts to solve it are quite comical. This is the perfect little mystery cozy that will delight lots of readers. I look forward to reading more books by this author. I give it 4/5 stars.

  1. Hello Jessica, I just stumbled across your book blog when searching for a potential review of my debut self-published fantasy novel, and was wondering if you were interesting in reading and possibly reviewing my book? It's hard to narrow the genre down beyond 'fantasy', as there is so much happening, but it has a rundown, apocalyptic feel throughout.
I've included some details below. If you're at all interested I can send you a PDF copy of the book in an email 😊
    Title: Crystal Castle
Date of Publication: 24th October 2016 (Kindle), paperback was a week later, both on Amazon.
Blurb: Gabriel sits by his fire awaiting the arrival of each member of his fellowship. They do not know of him nor of the epic journey that lies ahead. Brought together by forces unknown, they travel across the vast landscape of New Earth on their quest to bring to an end the evil reign of the mysterious Ruler of the Crystal Castle. During their treacherous journey, which is plagued by the cruel, dark power of the Ruler, they find friendship and love, but also suffer great loss and witness untold horrors as they move closer to the infamous Crystal Castle. Gabriel knows that this mission is his fellowship's destiny, but will they be strong enough to succeed?
Author biog: John Ashton is the author of fantasy novel Crystal Castle. He is currently working on his second novel, which is a murder mystery story with a supernatural element, due out in 2017. Born in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, he spends a lot of his time travelling, seeking new creative ideas.
