Book one in the new Harem of Babylon series and a decent start it is too. We get to meet Jordan who is running from her past. She has magical powers and no matter how much she tries to hide them she never seems to be able to stop herself from using them. This time not being an exception though it comes with a world of consequences that she never could have foretold. I have to admit that this story really took awhile to get moving and even then it is not a fast pace just enough to really keep you hooked wondering what crazy thing will come next as each new secret is revealed. The premise is great and I am looking forward to seeing where this is going when it is all said and done. I give it 4/5 stars though it was actually a little closer to 3.5. I imagine book two will be great as the story really evolves with the creation of the harem which does not exist yet.
