Blurb:
He wasn’t the one I was supposed to marry. He’s cold. Brutal. Calculating. To his family, I’m a strategic move in their war. To mine, an alliance offers protection against our enemies. Still, there’s something about him that calls to me. A dark edge threatens to revive me. His gaze steals my breath. Even if my heart thinks this could work, my brain knows better. We say “I do” with his brother’s blood on our clothes, and the bars of my gilded cage slam closed. Our wedding vows are forever – ’til death do us part. But with enemies closing in from all sides, death might be closer than we think.   Trigger Warning: This story does contain a sexual assault scene.

 REVIEW
*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.

I must say this is fantastic start to this new mafia romance series. We meet Amelie on the day of her wedding that has been arranged by their parents. She isn't exactly thrilled about this but will do anything to keep her sister safe. Having the groom shot mid ceremony wasn't even on her radar. Now suddenly her groom is Luca the youngest brother. Luca has wanted Ames for quite some time but she was forbidden so he stayed away. Seeing his chance he takes it even though neither is really ready. What follows is danger mixed with bad decisions creating one woozy of a romance that will keep you guessing all the way to the end. Makes for a fun read. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
