Character Interview
Character Name: Gaspar, the Ghost
The Ghost Camper’s Tall Tales
Destiny Falls Mystery & Magic, Book 3
1) Tell
us a little bit about yourself--both something we learn from [the story] and
something that readers might not guess?
Pleased to meet you. I am Gaspar, but I’m not known to many people these
days. To put it bluntly. I am a ghost. While I can see and hear the world
around me, only a very select view can see or hear me. I have a wealth of
knowledge about the world, and I know most secrets, but my influence is sadly
nonexistent.
I’m very pleased to finally meet someone who can converse with me, and who is open to the experience and eager to learn, Mistress Hayden Caldwell. I’m grateful that she listens with an open mind and takes from our conversations things that can be helpful to her as she sorts out the mysteries of our community and her own lineage.
2) How did you first meet your writer?
My existence was made
known to my writer in a dream. When she’s sorting through her thoughts for new
stories to tell she becomes open to all ideas and sorts through them to find
the gems for each of her tales. Luckily, I am one of the gems that she decided
to keep. Not only that, but she felt my story intriguing enough to feature me
as a main character. I was delighted to open up and release many tales of my
history to enrich the story of the enchanted world of Destiny Falls.
3) Want to dish about him/her?
Ah, the kind Elizabeth
Pantley is generous when she writes about me. She sifts through some of the
horrible background that is unappetizing to share, and finds the good and
strong parts of myself to share with the world. I’ll be forever grateful.
4) Why do you think that your life has ended
up being in a book?
It’s not my own story so
much that is important to Destiny Falls, but I am the catalyst for the
background that is so essential to understanding this enchanted world. I
believe that my position of watcher of all things has enabled me to understand
the needs of my visitor, Hayden, and share with her the pieces of information
she needs to know to solve the many mysteries of our land.
5) Who's
your favorite character? Why?
Most definitely that would be Mistress Hayden. She and I were destined to
meet so that I could teach her important lessons and improve her life. She’s
charming company for this old ghost, and it’s always a delight to visit with
her.
6) Who's your least favorite character? Why?
I dare not say much, for fear she’ll somehow read this statement and
attempt to punish me for speaking ill of her, as she has done in the past. I’ll
just say that she is powerful and vengeful, and not one to be trifled with.
7) What's next for you?
I still have many stories to tell, and secrets to be share, so I’ll not be leaving Destiny Falls any time soon.
About The Ghost Camper's Tall Tales
A ghost, a witch, a sassy cat, and a mystery. Hayden’s adventures in Destiny Falls continue when a mysterious old man keeps popping up to tell her a series of tall tales. Who is he? And is he actually glowing? Are his stories fiction, or is he telling her the history of her family, the enchanted islands, and the witch? And why did a dead body show up . . . of someone who is already dead? Can Hayden and her brave, quirky sidekick, Latifa unscramble this mystery before someone else turns up dead?
