This is definitely an intriguing book. The author has created a new world that came about after some catastrophic events changing how people lived. Bastian has had to adjust how he goes about doing things as he used to be highly respected but now he has to sell his sword/protection skills in order to keep his group surviving.  As he accepts a job he was led to believe one thing but surprises keep popping up along the way leading to an entirely new set of events. Makes for quite the interesting fantasy read as we follow along. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
