Ill Met by Murder by Elizabeth J. Duncan

Ill Met by Murder (Shakespeare in the Catskills Mystery #2)

Book two in the Shakespeare in the Catskills Mystery series. And into the world of plays yet again only this time it is for a Summer production. The group puts on an annual fundraising mini-play once a year on a nearby large estate. This year they will be combining their play with the wedding of the property owners daughter to follow the next day. The hope is for the play to set-up the rehearsal and that some of the props/flowers can be used for both. Charlotte feels rushed enough with all that is going on without the extra wedding stress but she thinks she pulls it all of anyways. Someone steals the donkey head during the play and when they go back the next day to find it the find a dead body instead. As events spiral out of control with rich people arguing with rich people things heat up until Charlotte figures out who the murderer was. The writing style is smooth and again there are just enough little details to keep the reader guessing from one page to the next. I enjoy the mix of the play and the investigation as it provides a nice balance to it all. I really enjoyed it so it gets 4/5 stars.
