Nothing is what it seems…
Basra is the eternal city—A paradise filled with relics of the old world. We are welcomed into the upper sanctum of Basranian society where sly smiles and wicked eyes tempt us with riches and lavish comfort, yet something seems hopelessly wrong. The city is decaying. A rotten core with a deadly key that unlocks something even more sinister in one of the guy’s pasts.
And paradise is filled with lies and deceit…
As an ambassador for Tartarus, it’s my duty to bridge the gap between us and the other cities. But even more, as part of this team, it’s my right to know the truth. We need these alliances now more than ever. Duty or not, though, I will seek out the truth of Basra. I will find the rotten core and cut it out. And then I’ll unlock the door to his past and hopefully find the key to our salvation.

Another excellent installment in this post-apocalyptic reverse harem series! We catch up with Cass and the guys as they are getting ready to travel to one of the other cities in an effort to find out more information for their investigation. Well of course there are lots of surprises along the way that could never plan for that keeps us guessing as the story unfolds. Cass is finally getting over her grief as well which makes things interesting as they all get to know each other better. Great world building, excellent writing, and story we can get attached to. What more could you want? I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
Smoke has some awesome world building skills I must say. The Earth was ruined so cities were made in the skies for people to live on. Tarturus is one of them and that is where this story takes place with lots of surprises as we go along. Cass is just great as she searched for Kida only to meet the guys. I was amazed left and right as the story unfolded with no clue what was going to happen next. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
