Character Interview
Character Name: Hi! I’m Piper Rivers, co-owner of the Ooey Gooey Goodness Bakery.
1)
Tell us a little bit about yourself--both
something we learn from [the story] and something that readers might not
guess?
I am not
a frilly girly-girl type. Also, I stress and worry about too much far too often.
2) How did you first meet your writer?
I met my
writer one October when she decided to participate in NANOWRIMO for the first
time to test her desire to be a writer and see if she had what it took. I
introduced myself, told her I’d never been to a spa but I loved to bake and
voila she crafted me an excellent story.
3) Want to dish about him/her?
My writer
is like me, so “highly responsible” that some people think of her as a control
freak. She also loves chocolate and would be happy eating ice cream for
breakfast, however her husband is a very healthy eater and she has to set an
example for her daughters so she tries to limit the ice cream obsession. She
often stays up too late reading and thinks of four or five story ideas at time.
4) Why do you think that your life has ended
up being in a book?
I think
that my life ended up in a book because I am blessed to have friends that keep
my story full of wit and fun, but also a knack for trouble and stubbornness
that makes you want to know what I’ll be wrapped up in next.
5)
Who's your favorite character? Why?
Oh gosh,
my friend Sam definitely. She owns the Ooey Gooey Goodness Bakery with me and
has been my friend for ages. She knows me well and pushes me outside of my
comfort zone but only in good ways.
6)
Who's your least favorite character? Why?
Sam’s
mother, Deidra Lowe, is a real witch. Not the magic-casting kind, but the “I
think I’m better than everyone” kind. She is a horror.
7)
What's next for you?
Some sparks are brewing between me and an especially handsome guy, so next for me will probably be more delicious treats at the bakery and a possible new love life cooking up as well.
About Rest, Relax, Run for Your Life
Two best friends & a bakery!
Piper and Samantha are in heaven. Well, close. More like a long weekend at the O Heavenly Day Spa. A few mysterious notes start appearing everywhere, things get uncomfortable. As spa treatments go awry things get dangerous. A threatening message convinces Piper and Sam that they have to find out who is behind all of these disasters. When the smoke alarms go off and the spa erupts into panic, the chaos separates the friends and Piper stumbles into trouble. Will someone help her before it is too late?
Fun from the very first page! Piper and Samantha make a dynamic duo as they run their bakery making wonderful goodies. We get a great cast of characters added to the mix as the book starts. The two women win a free spa package for a four day stay so they get excited for a break. At least until Piper starts finding weird little notes along with some weird accidents that start happening. Things start heating up as the story progresses until we got the big reveal. Well written, captivating, and fun what more can you want. Perfect for cozy fans. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
