Blog Tour, Character Interview, Review, & Giveaway for Pork Chopped to Death by Jodi Rath

Character Interview

Character Name: Fern Tucker

1)     Tell us a little bit about yourself--both something we learn from [the story] and something that readers might not guess? I’m Jolie Tucker’s aunt—people think I’m the stereotypical wacky aunt. Well, I spent my life doing odds and end jobs and have always looked at life a bit less seriously than others—maybe that is why some think I’m wacky. Truth be told, I have strong opinions about things that divide the city folk and the villagers where I live and coming up in Pork Chopped to Death, people will begin to see me in a new light. I’ll take over temporarily as mayor—and that will be the catalyst for change in the future of the series.

2)     How did you first meet your writer? Well, first off, she annoys me about as much as my mom and my family do. She’s the reason why people stereotype me as the “wacky, looney aunt.” Truth be told, that one there is about as wacky as they come—I mean, it takes a writer to write a wacky character, right? We first met when she rambled on about her Aunt Patty (who, go figure, she calls the protag’s mom, Patty, in the book—now THAT’S wacky!) and how the woman says things that would shock a live wire in water!

3)     Want to dish about him/her? Um yeah, first off—her hair—let’s start there. Like try to do something with the out-of-control curls. Seriously, it’s not cute. It doesn’t make you look “artsy” or whatever it is she thinks. Also, tattoos—come on—she’s 48 people—only a 48-year-old writer would have hair like that AND tattoos. She thinks she’s brilliant—I mean anyone can publish a book these days—heck, I’m going to write a full book tomorrow—so I don’t see what’s so special about her!

4)     Why do you think that your life has ended up being in a book? Easy-peasy—because I am truly amazing and deserve to be written about. You just wait and see—things are going to change in Leavensport—when it’s all said and done—you remember where that change started!

5)     Who's your favorite character? Why?  Ava—I should say my niece, Jolie, but she’s kind of uptight and annoying at times. Ava is a HOOT and a HALF!

6)     Who's your least favorite character? Why?  Tom Costello—that man and what he did to my mom. He’s going to get his!

7)     What's next for you?  Oh, you just wait and see!

Mafia, urban sprawl, gentrification, newborn babies, and the lives of the Leavensport villagers will be altered forever. Change is inevitable. Jolie Tucker is a Type-A perfectionist with fanatic tendencies who detest the very thought of change. Regardless of what she wants, change is a comin' along with a grizzly discovery of murder of one of the village’s most beloved, mayhem between the villagers and the urbanites of Tri-City, and new dynamics of family dysfunction.

Get ready for a roller coaster ride from the peaks of new life, yummy food, and blossoming relationships to the lows of slayings, chaos, and war. The residents of Leavensport are in for the battle of their lives, and it’s up to Jolie, Ava, and their crew to determine the future of their village.

Welcome to Leavensport, Ohio, where DEATH takes a DELICIOUS turn!

REVIEW
*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.

Welcome to a new adventure with Jolie and her BFF Ava. Things are going great at the cafe but at the same time both girls are pregnant creating all sorts of emotional roller coaster. Add in that Julie is having twins and the poor girl just might stress herself to death. A murder as well as an attempted murder just makes her that much more tense. When the long term investigation is added to the mix things really go crazy. This makes for a hilariously captivating cozy just full of the unexpected. A must read for fans of culinary cozies. I totally loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.
