*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write a honest review for.
This is an intriguing debut book by a new author. We get taken to a well created fantasy world that has its own customs, lifestyle, and more. In this world the mages pretty much rule of the non-mage population. Liv is a non-mage teacher who attempts to expose the corruption of those in charge even though this places her directly in their cross hairs. In an effort to avoid a long prison sentence she accepts a plea deal that requires her to serve Leopold for six months. Neither of them expected to fall in love during this service but surprises are always fun. As the romance ramps up so does the rest of the plot leading all of the way to he end that will have you wanting book two now. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
