Book two in the Queen of Hearts Saga. Dinah is in exile in this book after being framed for her brothers death by her father. She finds survival difficult until a spade shows up to help her along the way. He leads her to friends and others interested in helping her. This group leads the way for her to fight a battle to reclaim her throne overthrowing the King of Hearts that is set up for the next book. This inside look into the life of the Queen of Hearts is fascinating though I admit that this book plodded along quite a bit much to my disappointment. The development held a lot of promise but the whole thing felt like one emotional mood swing leading into another with an identity crisis along the way. The details added were awesome though and Oakes has a fascinating view of fantasy in Wonderland that I really like. I am hoping that the next installment holds a little more action with less moodiness attached. I give it 3/5 stars.
