Eclair and Present Danger by Laura Bradford

Éclair and Present Danger (An Emergency Dessert Squad Mystery)
goodreads.com

Book one in the Emergency Dessert Squad Mystery series. I quickly fell in love with the main characters in this book. It starts with Winnie Johnson who finds herself having to close down her bakery after the rent is raised too high to pay. On the very last day she is left an old ambulance and a grumpy cat in a deceased friends will which leads to her next big idea. An emergency themed dessert delivery service that will still let her bake, employ her best friend, and make use of her new inheritance. While trying to get her business off the ground she finds her neighbor murdered and cannot help but get involved. Winnie is  great character that prefers to hang out with the older generations even living in a neighborhood that is mostly that age group. This leads to some interesting events along the way, and I just love the camaraderie amongst the core group. The career idea is quite ingenious as well which I really enjoyed. I give it 4/5 stars.
