Book two in the Shadow series. We met the oldest brother Stephen in book one so this one follows Ricco as he almost destroys himself before he finds the right woman to make life worth while for him to live. Then Mariko shows up only she is supposed to kill him. After making her investigation she instead recruits him to her side to find the bad guys. There is a lot of shadow family politics in this book as Ricco uncovers events from years ago that some tried to hide altogether. The new shadow parts of the story added more development to the arching story line of the last book which I really enjoyed. I will admit that I had no idea what a Japanese rope model was before reading this book though I definitely know more now. I look forward to the next installment in the series to see which sibling will be next. I give it 4/5 stars.
