Character Interview – Olivia (Livvy) Denis Redmond
1) Tell us a little bit about yourself--both something we learn from [the story]
2) I’m very close to my cousin and her family – Abby, Sir John, and their sons
3) and something that readers might not guess?
4) While I have a reporter’s job at The Daily Premier working for Sir Henry Benton, I get loaned out to Sir Malcolm Freemantle, the British spymaster, when he needs me for counterespionage. I invited my newspaper boss, Sir Henry, to my wedding, but not Sir Malcolm.
5) How did you first meet your writer? I first met Kate in Deadly Scandal when I saw my first husband, Reggie Denis, lying murdered in the morgue. She was very understanding. And she wanted to see what I would do next.
6) Want to dish about him/her? Kate is a good person. She’s brilliant, good natured, and funny. The sort of person I want to be when I get old. Oops, older.
7) Why do you think that your life has ended up being in a book? While I try to lead a normal life, I keep having adventures. Sir Henry, my boss at the newspaper, sent me to Nazi Germany to help his late wife’s family escape and that led to some scrapes. Then Britain’s spymaster, Sir Malcolm, discovered me when my father was suspected of murder. Since then, he’s put me to work finding German spies hiding in Britain.
8) Who's your favorite character? Why? Adam, of course. That’s why I married him in Deadly Darkness. He’s strong, sexy, and kind. And nearly as stubborn and quick witted as I am.
9) Who's your least favorite character? Why? My father. He’s always belittling me. He wanted a son, so I can’t measure up no matter how hard I try.
10) What's next for you? In Deadly Cypher, World War II starts, Adam is off with the army (He’s a Captain), and Sir Malcolm sends me to find a killer at Bletchley Park.
