Book four in the X-Ops series. This book is the story of Minka, the hybrid that escaped in the last book, and Angelo one of the members of Landon's old Special Forces team making them both somewhat known characters which I always like. Angelo comes across Minka while he is on another mission just as she is being attacked. Unable to control herself yet she clings to him (literally) when she discovers how calming his presence is. Of course this means that Angelo will transfer to the DCO now but I admit they make a great team working very well together. This whole mate thing seems to work out nicely for their teams making them work seamlessly together. The two of them have to go on a mission together to the area where Minka was found in order to hunt the scientists that experimented on her and find the lab. Of course Dick wants the men alive but the team decides to play it by ear since they need some type of evidence to tie Thorn or another member to what is going on. This is an excellent paranormal romance novel that focuses on the couple while still being able to keep up with the big story line that has been going on for several books now. I especially enjoy how each of the past couples are mentioned in some way or another so I can keep up with what is happening in their worlds. I really enjoyed it so it gets 4/5 stars.
